There are many software programs and online services that offer the ability to track your website performance.  Google offers some of the most popular free services in the form of Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools.  Analytics allows you to view and track website visitors and their sources, along with how long they stay on site, what page they enter and what page they leave from, and much more.  Google Webmaster Tools allows you to control how Google sees your site and allows you to submit a site map to help your site's overall visibility and more.
