This page could easily be titled "More Than You Wanted To Know", but I offer this section for those that may have questions on how a site like this is put together.
As for design and development, I chose Joomla (v1.5x), a feature rich Content Management System (CMS). A CMS was chosen due to the extensive Section and Category organizational structure. This allows us to group related pieces of content into various presentable formats. Joomla, an open source CMS offered under GNU/GPL license (General Public License) in particular was chosen for its overall integration of components such as blog views, content tables, contact forms, and very flexible menu and add-on component features. Did I mention it's FREE!! More information on Joomla can be obtained at their website at http://www.joomla.org/. The actual look and feel of our site is from a professional class template "Chromataphore" from RocketTheme.com. This particular template offers preset color schemes with many "click-and-go" varieties. I started with a preset featuring a black background with the orange and green contrasts you see here. I simply changed the preset black to the navy you see here and I was done! I highly recommend both RocketTheme and JoomlaShack for their extensive collection of Joomla templates and plug-in modules. Our header and banner areas were created with Adobe's Photoshop CS2, and our graphics were free downloads available from http://www.fotosearch.com/ and from Microsoft Office Clip Art Gallery. For search engine optimization, we employed the sh404SEF module add-on available on the Joomla extensions site to render the text friendly URLs you see here. Our site map generator is XMap and an extension called Jumi was used to render HTML code inside certain content blocks. Both of these are also available via the Joomla extensions site. Our website is hosted courtesy of Web Marietta on a Linux/Apache platform. Our domain name is registered through PostShadow.com. Our Fail-Over provisioning was implemented by Web Marietta using DSN Made Easy's Fail-Over DNS service and a secondary hosting site courtesy of Postshadow.com. Additional backup storage is also provided courtesy of Postshadow.com. If you have any questions about our mission, purpose, or about our site design, methodology, or production, please contact us.
